My name is Elijah Larsen, and I’m a teenager living in Arizona. My dad and I recently participated in an entrepreneurial program meant to help us launch an online business in 12 weeks. My parents have been using some form of a spending journal for about 10 years, and it seemed like a suitable project. The program was great, and we managed to launch a simple version of the tool. We continue to learn about building products and operating the business.
The goal behind SpendLight is to help people understand and improve their spending behavior. We think overspending is mostly a behavioral issue, and a ritual of journaling can help you become a lot more thoughtful and deliberate about your spending.
